ACTEW SUPPORTS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

July 23, 2001

"˜The Last Night of the Aussie Proms' concert series last weekend was a success for the Canberra Symphony Orchestra.

The orchestra and management of the CSO must take credit for the most enjoyable night of fun and frivolity. A new audience awaits the CSO following these performances.

"ACTEW is proud to have been sponsor of the matinee and evening sessions", Mr Paul Perkins, Chief Executive of ACTEW Corporation said, "and we look forward to working more with the CSO in the future".

"After the performance, ACTEW Chairman Jim Service AM announced that ACTEW would become a major supporter of the orchestra over the next three years. This would offer further stability to the funding operations being undertaken by the CSO, and help it to face the future with confidence.

"ACTEW is keen to be associated with our local orchestra, which has been a part of Canberra for many years. We want to see the CSO provide enjoyment to as many members of the Canberra community as possible".
