Williamsdale Road closure: 9am - 3pm, 13 - 15 February
February 14, 2012
As noted in the November Murrumbidgee to Googong Water Transfer construction update, the Murrumbidgee to Googong project team is currently in the process of hydrostatic testing sections of the pipeline to ensure it is water tight. As sections of the pipeline run under Williamsdale Road, it has been deemed necessary to keep these sections of the road closed during the testing to ensure public safety.
It is proposed to close a section of Williamsdale Road near Gibraltar Gap from 9am-3pm on Wednesday 15 February to Friday 17 February. The work schedule has been arranged to ensure residents can continue to access the road before 9am and after 3pm on the days of the closure to minimise the impact on residents dropping their children to the school bus or travelling for work. Access during the hours of the road closure will be via Burra Road and Old Cooma Road.
Emergency services and other service providers in the area will be consulted regarding the road closure and the project team will continue to provide up to date information on road closures to residents via electronic messaging signs and the SMS and email alert system. If you would like to register for the SMS alerts or emails, please contact ACTEW on the details provided below.
ACTEW regrets the inconvenience this road closure will cause to local residents. If you have any concerns or would like to discuss any issues associated with the project, please call the Water Security Projects information line on (02) 6248 3563 or email watersecurity@actew.com.au. For urgent enquiries after hours please phone 1800 211 242.
