My Cotter, My Place
What we have done so far
ACTEW sought your feedback on what attracts you and so many other residents and visitors to the Cotter recreation area. The precinct includes spaces along the Cotter and Murrumbidgee rivers, picnic areas and campground among many other great attractions. Your feedback helps us plan for the safe use of the Cotter during dam construction and consider ideas for re-instating and improving the area following construction.
As a means of gathering the communities views ACTEW undertook a range of surveys, feedback forms, workshops and ran a competition. The consultation activities ran through August, September and October 2008. The following is an overview of the process:
- Random telephone surveys
- An online feedback form (survey) open to anyone
- Public workshops
- Feedback forms returned via the post
- Ran a competition for entries into a time capsule to be placed at the enlarged Cotter dam
- Formation of a group Friends of the Cotter to keep interested members of the community informed of progress on the construction activities affecting the Cotter Precinct
You can still get involved by joining Friends of the Cotter or have your say via the information line.
A community consultation report will be available here once finalised in late November 2008.
