Amazing World of Science: Water Security – Major Projects display
As a part of this year’s National Science Festival, Water Security – Major Projects hosted an ACTEW Corporation stand at the Amazing World of Science. The Amazing World of Science is a showcase of science and technology.
The Amazing World of Science took place from August 20th – August 23rd, 2008. The display included interactive displays on fish habitats and source control. There was also water purification technology on display and local water samples that could be tested for salt levels. The display also gave many people an opportunity to ask questions about the projects that ACTEW is undertaking to secure the water supply for the ACT.
Development application for demonstration water purification scheme - drop-in sessions
In March ACTEW lodged a development application for the design and siting of a demonstration water purification scheme at the Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre, west of Holt.
On 17 and 19 April, ACTEW hosted two community drop-in sessions for people interested in the development. The two sessions were well attended, and gave interested people the chance to ask questions of the project staff.
ACTPLA's public display of the development application has now ended.
