ACTEW's Water Security Review 2007
The ACT region has experienced severe drought conditions over the last six years – and in 2006 alone, inflows into ACT catchments were down by almost 90%. The medium and long-term outlook suggests a further decline to long-term average inflows by almost 50%. These factors prompted ACTEW to conduct a review and reconsider the ACT's water supply options, as well as explore new alternatives to ensure future water security.
The reports below are based on the significant amount of work completed by ACTEW in the Future Water Options studies completed in 2005, as well as extensive updates and additional work completed over the past few months.
