Company structure
The corporation operates under a seven-member board
appointed by the voting shareholders, the ACT's Chief Minister and Deputy Chief
Minister. The voting shareholders determine terms of appointment and remuneration
paid to directors. Three directors of the ACTEW Board are also appointed to the
ActewAGL Board.
Our people
Our staff are a major factor in ACTEW's ongoing success.
As at 30 November 2005, 1,012 people were employed by ACTEW, ActewAGL and Ecowise
Environmental. Of these, 522 are employed directly by ActewAGL and Ecowise Environmental,
with the remaining 490 seconded from ACTEW Corporation to ActewAGL and Ecowise.
Within ACTEW 14 officers provide technical, financial, policy, governance and strategic
support and advice to the Board and Managing Director.
Since the commencement of water restrictions, additional
contract staff undertake a variety of duties related to the implementation and management
of the restrictions.
