Grass Roots is experiencing a well-earned rest from the kids as it enjoys its holiday from the daily thumping of 400 to 500 feet. The turf areas 2,3 and 4 generally have come out of Winter and straight into Summer quite well. A lot of broadleaf weed and some other grasses are evident in the warm season grasses, namely Trans Continental Couch (section 1) and Sir Walter (section 5).
Over the coming days herbicide will be applied to eradicate these weeds. Minimal broad leaf activity in the remaining turf areas can be seen.
Once the herbicide has been taken up by the weeds the turf will receive a well earned hair cut (mow) in preparation for the onslaught of those many little feet again.

A five metre strip of Primo MAXX Turf Growth Regulator has been applied to the Sprinkler Section A. This product aids in managing many aspects of general turf management and mowing. Repeat applications of PRIMO MAXX should result in turf with improved density, uniformity and general health. Just as importantly, PRIMO MAXX will also enhance root development. This in turn will maximise efficiency in the use of resources such as water and fertiliser.
It increases the lateral spread of tillers, roots, stolons and rhizomes, in addition to slowing the vertical growth of the turf. To date we have noticed a decrease on turf height by approximately 25 mm each mowing cut, whilst maintaining good colour and growth density.
