Catchment and dams – our natural waterways

The Water Purification Scheme would supplement the ACT's water supply by adding purified water to the Cotter reservoir. From this point, the purified water would become part of our existing water supply system.

Construction to enlarge the Cotter dam was one of the options explored and considered during ACTEW's detailed studies in 2004/05. This would allow for the extra water to be stored for our future needs.
